Friday Focus: Believe in your voice

"Believe in yourself and in your own voice, because there will be times in this business when you will be the only one who does. Take heart from the knowledge that an author with a strong voice will often have trouble at the start of his or her career because strong, distinctive voices sometimes make editors nervous. But in the end, only the strong survive."

I'm always told that I have a strong distinctive 'voice', so there's hope for me yet! Hugs..

Read this just when I needed to hear it. :) Love how that works.

This is such an inspiration. And don't you find that this applies to other areas of life - not just in writing? People have strong reactions to strong voices.

I think believing in your voice can happen only when you believe in yourself and this is the hardest part. Writers seem to feed on doubt...we've got to quit it!!!

It's been awhile. Hope good things are happening in your life. :)

Truer words were never spoken. If you don't write for yourself, you're not truly writing.
