War is coming...

(There's still no synopsis... THAT IS ALL IT SAYS! Ahhhh!)

#JLBBirthdayBash giveaway stuffs!!!

Announcing...my #JLBBirthdayBash (also known as, "It's my birthday month so let's have lots of prizes")! Later this month, I'm turning the young THREE-FIVE. Plus, my birthday this year will mark the beginning the 5th year since I started writing. (So cool.) I love the number five, love to write, but more importantly, I LOVE GIVEAWAYS!

So. As an excuse to celebrate my birthday with all ya'll, I've decided to have two separate giveaways going throughout the actual week of my birthday. The first one will be a pretty darn good-sized YA package available to US residents only. But, never fear, my international lovelies! Just because shipping costs are insane doesn't mean you can't enter the swag pack giveaway!* ;D (See! I share the international love!)

Just so you know, what you see is not necessarily what you're going to get. I will be adding more items to the giveaway throughout the month, like eARCs (that's eAdvanced Readers Copies, for those of you who don't know--think ebooks you get to read before it's technically "published"), and MORE. Can we say PAR-TAY?

There will be a few different ways to enter the giveaways, but rest assured that there will *always* be free entries as well! Because I love you guys!

And now, without further ado, here are some of the items I will be giving away so far:

So we've got a t-shirt that says, "ask me about my favorite books" (because of course we always love to talk about our favorite books--not that we actually *need* to be asked--ha ha), Rose Under Fire, Pity Isn't An Option, a Book Nerd bumper sticker, Unbreathable swag, an Unbreathable ebook, Pity Isn't An Option audiobook and/or ebook, and more to come!

Whew! Are you exited yet? I bet you're thinking, When will this giveaway take place, Jessica? WHEN????? (right?)

Well, it starts Sunday, October 20th at 12:00 a.m. (PST) and ends Saturday, October 26th at 11:59 p.m. (PST). So every day for a whole week you can enter to win! Woohoo!

In the meantime, check back with me over the next week or so to see what else I add!  And thanks in advance for helping me celebrate the big (young) THREE-FIVE!

Be blessed!

*actual international giveaway contents will be specified the week of the #JLBBirthdayBash

I'm on Tumblr!

I just wanted to share that. Because I'm excited. (I know Jennifer's face isn't exactly an excited one, but it made me laugh.)

I am hoping to get my amazing designer (Hafsah) in on the Tumblr deal soon so it'll look more like this blog (and perhaps a little Flora-ish, too), but for now, it's going to be simple. And of course it's listed under coffeelvnmom (which pretty much everything is) so it's easy to find. ;) So. If you're on there, hit me up! :D

P.S. News about my #JLBBirthdayBash is coming TOMORROW!

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine. This week's can't-wait-to-read pre-publication enovella is Pride and Prep School (Snark and Circumstance #3). Technically, the cover reveal is Friday, so I'm using the banner for her blog tour (hosted by Chapter by Chapter) since it shows most of the cover!

From Goodreads:

Georgia can’t figure out why the burden of a Y chromosome seems to make guys so hard to understand. First, there’s the handsome but slippery Jeremy Wrentham. After Georgia shared some pretty devastating kisses with him, she found her way home and he found her sister!

And then there’s Michael Endicott, who never fails to let her know that her family’s quirkiness lies too far outside the pale for this preppie townie. But if he really feels that way, why is he in Georgia’s kitchen, asking her out? And why don’t boys come with instruction manuals?

Well, not Jonas exactly. Just part of a quote BY Jonas.

I was messing around with the blurb I have listed on the "books" tab here on my blog and came up with this. (Mainly just for fun and because PIAO is really set in the fall. It's always great to read a book when the setting is the same as it is around you.) Then, as I read the words over, I realized it kinda goes with what's going on with our government right now, and how some people feel, so I thought I might as well share and make the last hour I spent at least worth something! ;) Enjoy!

This week's writerly news (in photos)...

It's almost October! I cannot believe how fast this year has flown by. And speaking of October, my #JLBBirthdayBash will officially begin in a few days... can we say YAY for prizes??? :D

As for news, this week has been pretty busy. I figured out the title to Flora Book 2 (come back Monday to find out), heard from my editor (work to be done, but I still very much hope to have If I Speak True out beginning of December), wrote quite a bit (if you've never done twitter word-sprint write clubs like #FridayNightWrites or #writeclub, you should!) and started on my amazing cover/site designer, Hafsah's gorgeous-o book, UNBREATHABLE. (Can't wait to finish it this weekend. And, she has a fan site already for it. Talk about awesome, right? You can check it out here.)

So since I'm a little late in writing today's post, I thought I'd just share a few photos to sum everything up. Ready? O-kay!

1) IF I SPEAK TRUE (Flora #1) fun:

photo cabcef4f-cfbd-4bb1-a4a1-617624d486df_zps6a107854.jpgSaw this yesterday and immediately thought of Eva, Dahlia's best friend (she loves to read about werewolves). If she had a journal and didn't prefer to talk so much instead, this would definitely be something she'd use.

2) Recent #amwriting note I'd completely forgotten I'd written until I found it:

Uh huh.

3) Here's a teaser Hafsah recently shared for her book, UNBREATHABLE, the book I'm reading now (and she's donating an ebook & some bookmarks for the #JLBBirthdayBash!--Yay!):

 photo 1256532_530489567023387_1657858332_n_zps684211d7.jpg
I know you want to read it yesterday now. ;) (It comes out in less than a month!)

photo 7d6aeaf6-c6a1-409d-80e0-1d5d232f9735_zps9fa4b317.jpg4) Honestly, I can't even remember why I took this photo, but I came across it this week, and it made me think of Jonas in PITY ISN'T AN OPTION. See, he has thing against beans. If he'd seen this in the Norton kitchen, in fact, he wouldn't have been very happy. (Sometimes, Hattie's sister calls him Beanie, on account of his hatred for beans.) ;)

5) Not the best picture, I know, but here are a few things that will be going into drawings for my #JLBBirthdayBash (more to come, including UNBREATHABLE and PITY ISN'T AN OPTION swag, and other stuffs):

So, there ya have it. Oh, and in case you missed it, my enewsletter will be starting up soon, so if you'd like to receive news and content before everyone else, here's the link!

Until Monday, be blessed!

Jessica

Ignite Me

by Tahereh Mafi
Publication date: February 4th, 2014

From Barnes and Noble:

The heart-stopping conclusion to the New York Times bestselling Shatter Me series, which Ransom Riggs, bestselling author of Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children, called “a thrilling, high-stakes saga of self-discovery and forbidden love.”

With Omega Point destroyed, Juliette doesn’t know if the rebels, her friends, or even Adam are alive. But that won’t keep her from trying to take down The Reestablishment once and for all. Now she must rely on Warner, the handsome commander of Sector 45. The one person she never thought she could trust. The same person who saved her life. He promises to help Juliette master her powers and save their dying world . . . but that’s not all he wants with her.

The Shatter Me series is perfect for fans who crave action-packed young adult novels with tantalizing romance like Divergent by Veronica Roth, The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, and Legend by Marie Lu. Tahereh Mafi has created a captivating and original story that combines the best of dystopian and paranormal, and was praised by Publishers Weekly as “a gripping read from an author who’s not afraid to take risks.” Now this final book brings the series to a shocking and satisfying end.
